Overview: The Director of Food Operations will oversee and enhance food service operations across our client, with a focus on evaluating the current food offerings and suggesting changes or improvements to enhance quality, profitability, and customer satisfaction. This role requires a strategic leader who can drive operational efficiency while ensuring compliance with food safety standards.
Experience in managing food operations for a convenience store chain (e.g., Sheetz, WAWA, Speedway) is highly preferred, as this aligns with the unique operational needs and customer expectations of the c-store industry. If unavailable, candidates from the fast-food restaurant industry with significant multi-site leadership experience will also be considered. The ideal candidate must bring innovative solutions to align food offerings with customer trends while ensuring the integration of operational best practices specific to multi-site environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate current food operations and recommend changes or improvements to food offerings.
- Develop and implement strategies tailored to convenience store environments, enhancing both customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
- Manage food service operations across multiple locations, ensuring alignment with company goals.
- Ensure adherence to food safety regulations and product quality standards.
- Optimize inventory management, food preparation processes, and store operations for cost-effectiveness.
- Lead, hire, train, and develop food service teams to ensure excellent customer service and operational performance.
- Conduct market research to align food offerings with convenience store customer preferences and emerging trends.
- Oversee budgets, control costs, and improve profitability through effective menu planning and inventory control.
- Ensure a positive and consistent customer experience, addressing feedback and concerns promptly.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in food operations, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience managing food operations for a convenience store chain with a minimum of 30 sites (e.g., Sheetz, WAWA, Speedway), or equivalent experience in the fast-food restaurant industry managing 30 sites.
- Demonstrated expertise in menu innovation and operational strategies tailored to multi-site environments.
- In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations, inventory management, and vendor relations.
- Proven experience managing budgets and improving operational efficiency.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
