Job Description:
We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with 2 years of experience in the medical device industry to support the design, development, and testing of mechanical components for medical devices. The role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with industry standards and deliver high-quality, innovative solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop mechanical components and enclosures for medical devices using CAD software (SolidWorks, Creo, or NX).
- Perform tolerance stack-up analysis, DFMEA, and risk assessments to ensure product reliability and manufacturability.
- Work with cross-functional teams, including electrical, manufacturing, and regulatory teams, to optimize designs.
- Create and maintain engineering documentation, including drawings, BOMs, and design history files (DHF).
- Support design verification and validation (DV&V), prototyping, and testing activities.
- Ensure compliance with medical device regulations (ISO 13485, FDA 21 CFR Part 820, IEC 60601, etc.).
- Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing teams to optimize design for injection molding, machining, and other manufacturing processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 2 years of experience in mechanical design within the medical device industry.
- Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, Creo, NX, or similar).
- Knowledge of materials, mechanical testing, and manufacturing processes.
- Understanding of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and FEA tools.
- Experience with design control, risk management, and regulatory compliance is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
