What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Engineer position at Invent Staffing?
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret GD&T to evaluate production parts, prototypes, and dimensional layouts.
- Apply AIAG Core Tools including PPAP, APQP, MSA, SPC, and FMEA for process control and product validation.
- Lead 8D problem-solving initiatives using tools such as 5 Whys, Ishikawa, and Kepner-Tregoe analysis to drive corrective actions.
- Investigate and resolve internal and external quality concerns, implementing root cause analysis and corrective action plans.
- Utilize DOE, SPC, Pareto Charts, and Minitab for statistical analysis and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with engineering, tool room, and production teams to address dimensional concerns and process inefficiencies.
- Conduct process audits to ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and other quality management systems.
- Maintain 8D logs and continuous improvement records to track issue resolution and preventive measures.
- Provide technical guidance on proper usage of measurement instruments on the production floor.
- Travel to customers and suppliers for containment activities and problem resolution as required.
- Drive scrap reduction and waste minimization initiatives in manufacturing processes.
Requirements:
Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field (required).
Experience:
- 5 years of quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment (preferred).
- 4 years in an automotive (OEM/Supplier) environment (preferred).
- Experience with IATF 16949 certification and audit processes (preferred).
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.
- Proficiency in GD&T, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and MSA methodologies.
- Experience with root cause analysis and structured problem-solving techniques.
- Knowledge of industrial quality tools such as Minitab, DOE, and statistical analysis.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams for issue resolution.
- Understanding of metal stamping and weld assembly processes.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Salary : $80 - $85
