What the Role Offers - Environmental Health and Safety Manager
The Environmental Health and Safety Manager will develop, implement and manage the safety programs for multiple work sites in Redmond and Woodinville, WA. This is a critical role in fostering a culture of safety while managing the company’s standard health and safety practices across all locations to ensure compliance, worker safety and sustainability.
What You Need to Succeed
- Responsible for developing and managing EHS programs and procedures that may include : chemical safety, biosafety, contractor safety, emergency preparedness, office and lab ergonomics, environmental compliance, and general safety.
- Work with the department heads to identify and document all safety / environmental-related regulations and standards that apply to the operations.
- Communicate requirements to research, manufacturing and support staff and provide hands-on support to identify solutions as needed.
- Maintain records, reports, and correspondence using computer databases and other software programs.
- Schedule and conduct regular safety education and training programs for all staff.
- Participate in formal and informal safety inspections / audits to detect hazards and unsafe working conditions; follow up with recommendations for corrective measures & track completion.
- Investigate accidents / injuries to determine cause and to prepare recommendations for prevention. Assist with worker’s compensation claims and risk management.
- Develop required cGMP documentation required for safety programs.
- Maintain safety equipment supplies for spill clean-up and response.
- Manage the certification of respirator training and supplies.
- Order spill response materials and maintain the inventory of supplies.
- Remain technically competent and keep current in new developments within the industry.
- This is an individual contributor role with no direct reporting responsibilities as of now.
