What You’ll Do
The Manufacturing Engineer will ensure that all assembly processes, equipment, and supporting systems operate to their maximum effectiveness. This role will adhere to specified safety and cost constraints as well as provide confirm that all products are of the highest possible quality. Maintain regular contact with production supervisors to keep them apprised of production floor issues encountered daily.
Responsibilities (Including other duties as assigned)
- Develop all process sheets (Work Instructions) necessary to manufacture all products and ensure quality within established cost limits.
- Update BOM’s to reflect CAR and approved process improvements.
- Properly define all test parameters for electrical and mechanical integrity of the products.
- Use input and guidance from design and test engineers to ensure that safety, quality, and environmental issues are considered and implemented.
- Teach, implement, and sustain DFSS and DFM processes for engineering development projects.
- Work with engineers and prototype / sample department to ensure new products are properly documented with BOM and process sheets.
- Plan, document, and provide periodic status reports on test results, processes, and workflow improvements.
- Generate PPAP packages to include Capability Studies, FMEA, and Control Plans.
- Plan, document, control, and analyze RMA (Returned Material) to determine root cause and develop appropriate corrective action that will eliminate future non-conformities.
- Maintain an awareness of customer requirements and use complaints to identify areas that may need development or improvement.
- Assist in the maintenance of a safe and healthy working environment and ensure that all equipment is used in accordance with safety regulations and company rules.
- Maintain a high standard of housekeeping and ensure that all environmental and health and safety regulations are complied with and implemented on the production floor.
- Operate and train others on a wide range of equipment and tasks including Calipers, Voltmeter, Assembly of aids, jigs, and fixtures, Electrical resistance welders, Ultrasonic welders, Electrical testing, Product labeling, and Shrink wrapping.
