Job Summary
The Food & Beverage Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality and efficiency of food and beverage operations, including but not limited to management, hiring, and development of service staff (bartenders, servers, and server assistants), overseeing the dining areas during business hours, and the monitoring and control of beverage products. The position involves overseeing member dining services, maintaining high standards of customer service, and supporting the Food and Beverage Director in strategic planning and execution of departmental goals.
Reports To: Food & Beverage Director
Supports: Catering Director, Executive Chef, and Director of Club Operations
Job Tasks (Duties):
· Manage FOH staff in all member dining areas to ensure that the high level of service is being delivered consistently to our members and guests.
· Coordinate training of the service staff to create effective team members delivering excellent service across the club.
· Assist with daily line-ups for service staff.
· Assures that all applicable club policies and procedures are followed.
· Assist in ensuring that all new employees receive the appropriate safety instructions and training; enforce all safety policies and procedures including OSHA regulations.
· Maintains a hands-on and visible awareness of all food and beverage service, providing support when needed.
· Assists in developing wine lists, cocktail menus, and bar menus.
· Addresses, member and guest complaints, reporting to and advising the Food and Beverage Director as needed.
· Monitors employee dress codes according to policies and procedures
· Assists with monthly beverage inventory.
· Assists with the storage and quality control of beverage products.
· Completes other appropriate assignments and duties from the Food and Beverage Director.
· Uphold and exhibit the high standards of Inverness culture according to the “Inverness Standard.”
Candidate Qualifications:
· Must be 21 years of age.
· Minimum two years of previous supervisory experience in food and beverage operations, with private club experience preferred.
· A strong wine/beverage knowledge base is preferred.
· Ability to promote and sustain a culture of quality service.
· Effective communication skills with members and staff, promoting an open exchange environment to move the food and beverage operations forward in a consistently positive, passionate manner.
· Excellent organizational skills.
· Reputation for quality and attention to detail.
· Ability and willingness to work long hours and weekends as demanded by business cycles.
· Knowledge of, and experience using Microsoft Office and/or exposure to private club management software and other related software is preferred.
· Required to stand for extended periods and walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneels, crouch, bend, stretch, and twist or reach.
· Push, pull, or lift 50 pounds.
· Ability to perform continuous repetitive motions.
· Ability to work in hot, humid, and noisy environments.
· Food safety education preferred.
· Alcoholic beverage certification preferred.
