The Inverness Water and Sanitation District is currently seeking an experienced Water and Wastewater Operator to manage, maintain, and monitor water treatment and distribution systems ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. Responsibilities include conducting routine inspections, adjusting treatment processes, and maintaining water infrastructure. Operators will also respond to emergencies, troubleshoot issues, and maintain records.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor system operations, water quality, and perform routine maintenance, including locates. Routine maintenance includes but is not limited to: water mains, service lines, fire hydrants, water valves exercising, sewer manhole inspections, pump stations, and storage tanks.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- willingness to participate in District-sponsored training programs.
- Upon completing onboarding, Candidate will join the Operations Team’s rotation for on-call duties to respond to system emergencies and ensure regulatory compliance
- Regular collection, handling and shipment, if needed, of water samples from various points in the system to be analyzed either by a third-party State/Federal-approved laboratory or by District-owned field-lab equipment.
- Job duties are primarily outdoor.
- Maintain active communications with the District’s customer service staff
Required Qualifications:
- Education in a related field preferred.
- 2 years in water/wastewater operations with familiarity in Colorado water regulations.
- Certifications:
- Water Treatment - Class D or higher,
- Water Distribution I, II, III or IV
- Wastewater Collections I - IV
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to complete water and wastewater operation duties.
Line of Authority: Candidate to perform duties under the direct supervision of the District’s System Operations Manager and Engineering Staff.
Compensation:
- Salary: $55,000 - $82,000, based on qualifications and level of experience.
