Job Summary:
Assess new senior loan investment opportunities and make investment recommendations to the investment committee via preparation of a credit proposal to include company and industry analysis, capital structure analysis, ESG analysis, cash flow projections, evaluation of collateral adequacy and relative strength of documentation, management, lead lender and sponsor quality, identification of key risks and evaluation of mitigating factors. Ongoing assessment of and buy/sell recommendations for an existing portfolio of 30-40 senior loan investments as well as 10-20 potential holdings. Identify new stressed and distressed secondary market opportunities for purchase.

Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities / Duties:
- Assess new senior loan and high yield bond investment opportunities and make investment recommendations to the investment committee via preparation of a credit proposal to include company and industry analysis, capital structure analysis, ESG analysis, cash flow projections, evaluation of collateral adequacy and relative strength of documentation, management, lead lender and sponsor quality, identification of key risks and evaluation of mitigating factors.
- Perform on-going monitoring, review of and provide recommendations on existing transactions including historical financial analysis, cash flow modeling and projections and industry analysis and assessments and review of internal and external ratings.
- Make on-going buy/sell/hold recommendations thru identification of relative value opportunities. Identify new stressed and distressed secondary market opportunities for purchase using these same tools. Develop a clear view on entry and exit yield for each existing and potential investment within opportunity set.
- Periodically participate in management meetings, sponsor meetings, company visits and plant tours.
- Participate in in-depth discussions with Syndicate Desks, Sell side Analysts and Private Equity houses on primary and secondary investment opportunities
- Participate in with ability to eventually lead workout of distressed situations.
- Review credit documentation for new transactions and amendments, including reviewing for documentation weaknesses
- Maintain existing electronic credit files, compliance reports, collateral positions, and updated exposure reports.
- Assist in other tasks such as portfolio monitoring and optimization and client interaction, marketing and support as necessary.
- 7-10 years' work experience in below investment credit research. (sell-side, buy-side, rating agency, PE firm, consulting, corporate finance)
- Experience in stressed, distressed, workout and restructuring situations. Experience in Liability Management Exercises a plus. Ability to navigate complex situations among multiple parties with varying and sometimes conflicting interests.
- Strong relationships across the lending, financial advisory, and legal communities
- Experience developing and mentoring junior analysts
- Aptitude for detail and a strong commitment to accuracy
- Ability to be creative and view a situation thru a variety of lenses
- Ability to distil key information from wide data set.
- Logical thinker with ability to “join the dots”
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and effective interpersonal skills
- Excellent quantitative and qualitative analysis and financial modeling skills
- Ability to work independently and follow through on projects
- Self-motivated, ability to multi-task and quickly complete tasks upon assignment

Salary : $185,000 - $200,000
