Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Firewall Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will work onsite at 2 MetroTech, Brooklyn, NY, on a hybrid schedule. This role focuses on networking security, next-generation firewall technologies, cloud security, routing, and defensive security solutions.

Scope of Services:

• Design, implement, and manage security solutions for networking and firewalls, including next-gen firewall and cloud security.
• Provide expertise in routing and defensive security strategies to secure and optimize the Citywide network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Participate in design meetings and reviews to provide network and security insights for priority projects.
2. Propose secure network architecture solutions aligned with OTI’s best practices and business requirements.
3. Collaborate with OTI Architecture teams to develop scalable and operable solutions.
4. Install new network or firewall devices in compliance with OTI’s provisioning process.
5. Replace firewalls and configure firewall rules following established procedures.
6. Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to enhance cloud service security and adoption.
7. Analyze and audit cloud provider security management tools.

Mandatory Skills/Experience:

1. Minimum 12 years of experience in networking, network security, and firewall technologies.
2. Hands-on experience with Palo Alto firewalls.
3. Deep understanding and experience with critical infrastructure protocols like DNS, NTP, and BGP.
4. Comprehensive knowledge of enterprise cloud provider services in large-scale environments.
5. Expertise in routing, load balancing, and networking infrastructure.

Desirable Skills/Experience:

1. Practical experience with Cisco and Palo Alto firewall technologies.
2. Additional expertise in multi-cloud environments.
3. Strong project management skills.
4. Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• Work Schedule: Hybrid (onsite at 2 MetroTech, Brooklyn, NY)
• Expected Weekly Hours: 35 hours/week
