Job Description: Production Support Business Analyst
Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Production Support Business Analyst to analyze high-priority production issues and initiate root cause analysis. The role involves reviewing functional specifications, comparing intended vs. actual application behavior, and aligning outcomes with end-user expectations. The ideal candidate will act as a Gatekeeper for issues and defects, ensuring timely response and resolution while collaborating closely with Product Development Managers (PDM) and business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Incident Management & Analysis:
Investigate and analyze escalated production issues.
Compare functional specifications with application behavior to identify discrepancies.
Capture and document issues/requirements in JIRA for review by legal and compliance teams.
Support & Collaboration:
Provide Tier IV support for production backlog and create JIRA stories.
Work closely with Tier I, II, and III teams (including developers and QA analysts) on ticket resolution.
Collaborate with Support Business Analysts, Developers, QA Analysts, and Product Managers for troubleshooting and resolution.
Root Cause Analysis (65% of time):
Recreate and analyze issues for troubleshooting.
Examine system architecture, code, and data.
Document steps to reproduce issues and provide insights for resolution.
Requirements & Enhancement Assessment (20% of time):
Review system and functional requirements to ensure application behavior aligns with intended design.
Identify potential system enhancements based on user feedback and issue analysis.
Risk & Impact Assessment (10% of time):
Evaluate the risks associated with application issues.
Assess impact on end users, data integrity, and system functionality.
Liaison & Communication:
Act as a bridge between Production and Feature teams to ensure efficient issue resolution.
Review, validate, and process tickets, escalating or closing them as necessary.
Engage with Legal and Compliance teams to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Ability to ask critical questions and think logically.
Fast learner with a proactive and intuitive mindset.
Experience working in a SAFe Agile environment.
Effective communicator who can collaborate across multiple teams.
Ability to handle a high volume of incidents efficiently.
