Job Title: DevOps Engineer

Reporting to: DevOps Manager or CISO
Location: Baltimore, MD (Not Remote – In-Office at least 3 days per week)
Hours of work: Typical hours of work are from 8:30 AM until 5:00 PM local time Monday through Friday. Flexibility of Working Hours dependent on location. Additional hours may be necessary as needed. This position is exempt from overtime.
Compensation: Range is commensurate with experience. The range is expected to be between $115,000-$125,000 annually

As we continue to grow, we're expanding our DevOps team to enhance efficiency, collaboration, system reliability and scalability with the overarching goals of enabling faster delivery of high-quality features while ensuring robust security, incident response, and compliance to protect sensitive healthcare data and manage risk.
Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated DevOps Engineer with experience managing diverse application environments and cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, deploying, and maintaining scalable and reliable systems, while supporting our development teams in automating processes and managing cloud resources. This role requires a strong background in cloud services, continuous integration, deployment (CI/CD), and cross-platform infrastructure management.
Essential Functions:
Manage infrastructure and environments across multiple platforms (Linux, Windows, SQL Server, etc.) on AWS
Administer and maintain MySQL databases, manage and implement Single Sign-On (SSO) integrations with third-party applications and internal systems, and troubleshoot Site-to-Site VPN connections.
Collaborate with development and QA teams to build automated, reliable, and repeatable deployment pipelines (CI/CD)
Manage cloud resources (e.g., EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, VPC, IAM) to support various workloads
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to application performance, infrastructure, and database environments
Automate configuration management, deployment, and infrastructure provisioning using tools like Terraform or CLI
Monitor and maintain the health of cloud infrastructure and applications, ensuring high availability, performance, and security
Support backup, disaster recovery, and security solutions, ensuring compliance with organizational policies
Optimize infrastructure costs and performance through resource management and automation
Work with teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of applications across diverse environments
Maintain documentation and standards for operational procedures and infrastructure
Qualifications:
Required
Extensive experience managing AWS resources such as EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, VPC, IAM, etc., with a strong understanding of AWS best practices.
Hands-on experience using infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or similar.
Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI, or AWS CodePipeline for automated deployments.
Proven ability to troubleshoot and optimize performance for AWS-based infrastructure and applications.
Experience designing secure cloud environments in AWS, including VPCs, Security Groups, Network ACLs, and IAM roles/policies.
Strong experience with cost management and resource optimization techniques in AWS (e.g., EC2 instance types, Reserved Instances, spot instances, etc.).
Hands-on experience with AWS-managed databases (e.g., RDS, Aurora) and familiarity with database performance tuning.
Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, or PowerShell) for automating cloud infrastructure management.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to resolve complex infrastructure and application issues within AWS.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams, including development and QA, to streamline workflows and improve system reliability.
Preferred:
AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or other relevant certifications.
Experience with Docker and AWS services for container orchestration
Familiarity with AWS serverless
Experience with AWS monitoring and logging tools
Experience with designing and implementing disaster recovery strategies using AWS services
Experience with advanced CI/CD concepts and tools specific to cloud-native applications.
Security Provision:
