Job Summary
The Vice President of Leasing is responsible for the overall operational and financial aspects of a national portfolio of properties as it relates to all Leasing activities. This position is accountable for the development and implementation of comprehensive programs. The VP is also responsible for process development in leasing both Build to Rent and scatter-site operations, financial planning and new program development, as well as developing, implementing, tracking and reporting on goals, initiatives and key performance indicators. The individual in this position will be responsible for managing a team of associates that will execute the daily operations necessary to support centralized programs. The Vice President of Leasing will collaborate with the operation’s senior leadership team, VPOs and Corporate functions to ensure the successful implementation and sustainability of the company’s leasing objectives.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for the overall management of Leasing resources including the development of a business plan, budgeting, and client relations.
- Responsible for marketing the Leasing department’s services.
- Identify training needs for career paths through the Education department.
- Develops, implements and monitors programs which support Leasing Operations.
- Ensures consistent use of National Practices and Contract Processes.
- Interviews, hires, trains and supervises associates in department.
- Participates in Company provided training.
- Complies with all Company National Standards, applicable health and safety rules and regulations, as well as applicable local, state, and federal laws.
- Lead a team that is responsible for the daily execution of centralized support services, with an emphasis on facilitating communication between such program service providers and IH market teams.
- Develop and distribute managerial and operational reporting necessary for monitoring performance, measuring compliance and driving improvement across all centralized programs. Provide ad hoc reporting as needed
- Analyze and evaluate the financial impact of ongoing and proposed strategic initiatives
- Conduct periodic field visits with market teams to collect feedback regarding the quality of the centralized support services.
- Liaise between LPM Department and other departments including but not limited to RTM, Marketing, Accounting, HR and Tech to optimize existing and/or develop and implement new centralized service programs.
- Coach, train and motivate team members responsible for the execution of centralized support services.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations including Fair Housing Guidelines
Education and/or Experience
- College degree in Business Management or related field preferred
- Extensive experience will be considered in lieu of education
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a leadership role
- Minimum 7 years of relevant work experience in real estate, leasing, property management or other related field
- Ability to travel; travel is low to moderate 15%-25%
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word and Project Management Applications
- Proficiency and working knowledge of Yardi property management software a plus

Physical and Mental Demands
This position will involve long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers. The position may also entail light lifting of supplies and materials occasionally, up to and including 20 pounds in addition to reaching, stooping, standing, and walking. This position requires the ability to talk, hear, compare, compute, compile, copy, analyze, coordinate, synthesize, negotiate and communicate. Salary Range
