Position Overview:
The Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) will support students with behavioral, social, and academic challenges. The BCBA will work collaboratively with educators, support staff, and families to develop and implement evidence-based behavioral interventions that promote student success in inclusive and specialized educational settings.
Key Responsibilities:
Behavioral Assessment & Intervention
- Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA) to identify the function of challenging behaviors.
- Develop, implement, and monitor Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP) to address students' needs.
- Utilize Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles to create individualized and group interventions.
Collaboration & Training
- Work closely with teachers, administrators, counselors, and special education staff to implement behavioral strategies.
- Provide training and professional development for school personnel on behavior management, ABA principles, and data collection.
- Partner with parents and guardians to ensure consistency in behavior interventions across home and school settings.
Data Collection & Progress Monitoring
- Collect and analyze behavioral data to measure student progress and the effectiveness of interventions.
- Adjust intervention strategies based on data trends and student needs.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with district policies and state/federal regulations.
Compliance & Best Practices
- Ensure all behavioral supports align with IDEA, IEP goals, and district policies.
- Stay updated on best practices, research, and legal requirements related to behavioral support in schools.
- Advocate for students' behavioral and social-emotional development in an educational setting.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Board Certification in Behavior Analysis (BCBA) from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
- Master’s degree in Behavior Analysis, Special Education, Psychology, or a related field.
- Experience working with students with disabilities and behavioral challenges in a school setting.
- Strong knowledge of ABA strategies, FBA/BIP development, and positive behavior interventions.
- Ability to train and collaborate with school personnel and families.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Preferred:
- Delaware state licensure or ability to obtain necessary certification.
- Familiarity with Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS).
- Experience working in public schools or educational settings.
