Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) will assess, diagnose, and treat students with speech, language, and communication disorders. The SLP will work collaboratively with educators, parents, and special education teams to develop and implement strategies that support student success.

Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) will assess, diagnose, and treat students with speech, language, and communication disorders. The SLP will work collaboratively with educators, parents, and special education teams to develop and implement strategies that support student success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessment & Evaluation:
- Conduct screenings and comprehensive evaluations to identify speech, language, and communication needs.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal guidelines.
- Maintain thorough documentation and progress reports.
- Therapy & Intervention:
- Provide direct speech-language therapy services to eligible students.
- Develop tailored intervention plans to address students’ needs.
- Monitor progress and adjust therapy as needed.
- Collaboration & Support:
- Work closely with teachers, parents, and special education staff to support students’ communication development.
- Participate in IEP meetings and provide professional guidance on speech-language strategies.
- Provide training and resources to educators and families when necessary.
- Compliance & Documentation:
- Ensure compliance with New Jersey Department of Education regulations and IDEA requirements.
- Maintain accurate student records and submit reports as required.
- Education: Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders.
- Licensure & Certification:
- New Jersey Speech-Language Specialist certification.
- New Jersey SLP licensure required.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA preferred.
- Experience: Prior school-based or pediatric experience preferred.
- Skills & Competencies:
- Strong understanding of child speech and language development.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations.
- Experience with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems.
- Familiarity with New Jersey special education laws and school-based speech therapy services.
