About Infrastructure & Security at Invoca :
Infrastructure & Security is made up of the following groups and teams :
- Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) group
- Telecom team
- Information Security team
The SRE group is organized in two teams :
Consulting : responsible for short-term, interrupt-driven requests and engagements with software development teams, helping develop longer term solutions to shift left and providing development teams with greater confidence and ownership of their infrastructure needs.Core : responsible for day-to-day service ownership and providing Invoca with a reliable and innovative foundation through expertise, ownership, and advancement of infrastructure.Holistically, the SRE group is responsible for production uptime and observability across dimensions of cost, performance, and analytics. They support Invoca's mission by providing realtime, highly-available infrastructure, tools and observability for call routing, audio processing, transcription, data storage, numerous APIs, and more. Invoca is a B2B platform and our external customers rely on us to be a seamless part of their conversations with customers, provide timely insights and analytics, and do it all securely, at scale, across the US and EU.
The Telecom team provides a reliable SIP based platform to connect Consumer callers to our customers, incorporating dynamic routing logic and conversation insight gathering via our multi-vendor, multi-region cloud based telephony service.
The Information Security team works with the entire organization to secure system and network resources, and protect the confidentiality of customer and staff information. They identify and mitigate risk, advise best practices, ensure incident response plans are developed and increase organizational security awareness.
About the Role :

As Architect for Infrastructure & Security, you will provide technical leadership for a group of teams that are directly responsible for the roadmap, development, and maintenance of Invoca's infrastructure platform while upholding high standards via modern agile methodologies : test-driven development, continuous deployment, and DevOps.
You Will :
Work across SRE, Telecom and Infosec teams at our most senior technical level, partnering closely with the Tech Lead from each teamCollaborate with engineering leaders and individual contributors to develop a cohesive technical vision across the entire group and explore ideas, architect solutions, and break down large initiatives into achievable roadmapsPartner with Tech Leads and Engineering Managers to drive technical delivery, quality, and reliability across the Infrastructure and Security group.Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers within the group and beyondIdentify areas for investment or innovation, support teams in the full development lifecycle, and regularly take a hands-on approach with contributions and reviewsBe involved in the incident management process and drive improvements to learn, prevent, and more quickly respond to future incidentsDevelop relationships with other Engineering teams and your peer architects to integrate reliability engineering and security practices and drive overall operational improvements across the organizationHelp treat compliance as an outcome of excellent security practices while balancing factors of quality, speed, and costSupport diversity, equity, and inclusion at InvocaReport to the Lead Architect, who reports to the CTOYou Have :
10 years of hands-on experience as an SRE in multi-cloud environmentsExperience supporting the cloud infrastructure and security of SaaS applications at scale in a continuous deployment environmentA systematic problem-solving approach coupled with exceptional communication skills and a deep sense of ownershipExperience growing and mentoring engineers across varying seniority levelsAn extensive track record of leading technical initiatives, maintaining features in production, and driving prioritization with a customer-focused mindsetExperience working in event driven systems and real-time highly available infrastructureExperience with maintaining compliance in at least one of the following frameworks : PCI, SOC2, and / or ISO27001Experience with various core technologies in use at Invoca or highly similar :Significant experience with cloud-native computing / networking, particularly AWS & GCPInfrastructure as code, particularly Terraform and ChefContainerization, particularly Docker and Kubernetes via kopsLinux, particularly DebianA relevant programming language such as Ruby or GoConfiguration management tooling, particularly ChefDatabase management, particularly MySQLObservability tooling, particularly Prometheus, Grafana, Thanos, Karma, and ELKTelephony with SIP, FreeSWITCH, and KamailioOther ownership areas include Kafka, ConsulSalary, Benefits & Perks :
