Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to join our team in the site development construction industry. The EHS Manager will assist in the implementation, monitoring, and enforcement of safety protocols across multiple construction sites, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct Safety Inspections: Assist with weekly site safety audits to identify hazards, unsafe practices, and compliance issues.
- Monitor Compliance: Support enforcement of safety standards for employees and subcontractors in alignment with OSHA and company regulations.
- Incident Reporting & Investigation: Aid in documenting and investigating incidents, near-misses, and workplace accidents; assist in identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
- Safety Training Support: Help coordinate and deliver safety training sessions on topics such as hazard recognition, PPE use, and emergency procedures.
- Documentation & Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate safety records, including meeting minutes, training logs, inspection reports, and incident documentation.
- Promote a Safety Culture: Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and near-miss reporting programs to strengthen site-wide safety awareness and engagement.
- PPE Oversight: Ensure proper usage and availability of personal protective equipment (PPE); assist in distribution and inventory management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety or related field preferred
- 1 to 3 years of relevant experience
- OSHA 30 Construction Certification required
- OSHA 510 Certification preferred
- Prior experience in site development or heavy civil construction preferred
- Strong interest in construction health and safety practices
- Working knowledge of OSHA standards and construction regulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to identify safety hazards and recommend solutions
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred but not required
- Eagerness to learn and grow in a fast-paced construction environment
