Project Administrator, New Product Development

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Support and monitor critical milestones along the new product process implementation timeline, collaborating with the assigned New Project Development Manager to ensure each step in the process is executed timely.
    • Key Steps: Pre-Quote Discovery | Quote Submission | New Product Form (NPF) Development | System Execution | Pre-Production Review | First Time Run | Post-Mortem Analysis
  • Collaborate with an interdepartmental team to gather all relevant data points regarding formulation, compliance, production, and procurement to provide profitable, duplicable additions to the D1 portfolio.
  • Gather and organize project-specific information and aid in the build-out of NPFs for all approved projects.
  • Maintain current finished good product specifications log and keep all FGPS up to date through the execution of change controls.
  • Maintain documentation process and filing system for commercialization, product specification and formula documentation.
  • Manage documentation files, including storage and records retention that allows efficient and easy access.
  • Work in partnership with the ERP & Regulatory Compliance Manager to provide all necessary data points to build a complete Master Manufacturing Record (MMR), Master Formula and Master Bill of Material.
  • Address questions, concerns, and/or complaints throughout the project.
  • Communicate with customers and vendors to acquire project-related documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, industry, contractual, and company regulations, standards, specifications, and best practices.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn about the project or product being developed.
  • Strong record-keeping skills, including maintaining accurate project-related documentation, quotes, and operational records.
  • Familiar with the knowledge and application of statistical process control and quality assurance techniques in a food, chemical or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel for data tracking and reporting.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems strongly desired.

Education and Experience:

  • Strong process improvement mindset and background
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, which may include Computer Science, Biology, Chemistry, Business Management, Communications is preferred.
  • 1-3 years of related experience required.
  • Quality assurance and/or contract manufacturing experience preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of statistical process control and quality assurance techniques in a food, chemical or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of FDA regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
  • Experienced in planning and organizing projects.
  • Project management experience preferred.
