What are the responsibilities and job description for the Buyer (Nutraceuticals Contract Manufacturing) position at INW Manufacturing, LLC?
Who we are looking for: We are looking for a positive, professional, who is honest, detail oriented, organized and who takes initiative and pride in their position within the Company.
What would the job be like? The person in this role will plan, coordinate and negotiate the purchase of supplies, materials, and products necessary for the manufacturing of dietary supplements in a way that meets Company and Customer quality specifications, price points, and timelines.
This requires successful and management of suppliers in accordance with their contracts, some negotiations, partnering with internal departments in pursuit of cost reductions and full understanding of cGMP for an Arizona based dietary supplement manufacturer.
Job Responsibilities - to ensure the quality and safety of the product will include, but not be limited to:
- Place orders for materials per manufacturing schedule and manage deliveries.
- Monitor shipments to ensure that goods come in on time and resolve problems related to unacceptable, undelivered, or goods that arrive late.
- Collaborate with multiple vendors regarding product pricing and lead times.
- Provide information or indication of problems to Management or Quality Assurance.
- Purchase the highest quality merchandise at the lowest possible price for the needed quantities and time frame.
- Negotiate, renegotiate, and administer contracts with suppliers, vendors, and other representatives.
- Locate and evaluate vendors, to determine product quality, availability and terms of sales and monitor the performance of existing vendors to determine needed changes.
- Monitor and follow applicable laws and regulations.
- Review product specifications to maintain a working technical knowledge of the goods or services to be purchased.
- Submit and mange RFQs for new projects.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 2 years of experience with purchasing and contract negotiation, experience within dietary supplement industry is preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge and willingness to learn of supply chain best practices and purchasing principles including cGMP’s
- Proven success in saving money through purchasing
Knowledge and Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communications and organizational skills
- Detail oriented and able to manage multiple projects at once
- Proficient in Excel and working knowledge of ERP systems
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Establishes strong relationships with executives, staff, clients, outside agencies, organizations and individuals
- Conveys a professional and positive image and attitude regarding the organization
