IO Datasphere, Inc. has been providing project management, software development and IT staff augmentation services to our clients in the Midwest and throughout the U.S. since 1996. We are an approved vendor on contract to provide software development and IT staff augmentation services for the States of Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin. We also provide these services to businesses, as well as local and county governments, in the Midwest and nationwide.

Our client is looking for a Sr. Windows Administrator / Architect that will provide innovative solutions within a diverse Enterprise environment with multiple cloud services and on-premises infrastructure components. The individual will work closely with Information Technology professionals to ensure technical components are available for projects and working properly. They will also work closely with the supervisor and project teams to successfully monitor the progress of initiatives, provide detailed specifications for proposed solutions, and define clear goals for all aspects of a project and manage their proper execution. They will have the ability to direct a small team in completing tasks, improving on operational support or maintenance, and document processes as needed

The Sr Administrator/Architect will provide leadership and subject matter expertise in the administration, maintenance and support of numerous backend systems that support the agencies application development, design, security, integration and desktop infrastructure. They will be well versed in projecting for possible challenges on constraints including, risks, time, resources, and scope changes to the project.

This position will be technical lead for backend infrastructure services. These services or systems include areas within the Microsoft Services arena including but not limited to Active Directory (AD) services including ADFS, Group Policy, Distributed File Services, Azure subscriptions, DHCP, and networking protocols and services. This person will be responsible for third (3rd) level technical support functions for the Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), monitoring tools, multi-factor authentication, storage and backup, Power Shell scripting, and numerous customized off-the-shelf applications that have been implemented.

  • Directing and managing the workload of team members
  • Managing the on-call support functions for the operations team
  • Document and monitor requirements needed to institute proposed updates or new services.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Expert troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to analyze current technologies used within an organization
  • Ability to collaborate with IT professionals within the organization to ensure the proper infrastructure components are designed, delivered, managed, available, working as designed for projects or operations, and that best practices and organizational IT policies are being followed
  • High-level understanding of networking protocols and network connectivity

NOTE: Candidate must be a WI resident or willing to relocate to WI prior to starting the role. This position is currently hybrid. (95% remote 5% on-site) However, position status is subject to change. Candidate must be available to work on-site at the client work location in Madison, WI as needed. The client does not pay for travel time or reimburse for travel expenses.

Skills Required:
  • 10 years - Experience analyzing new and current technologies used within an organization (VMWare and VDI) with the ability to document and recommend solutions to improve on performance, stability, and cost savings to the agency.
  • 10 years - Experience leading a project team as a technical expert in system implementation, working with project managers and leadership to set project goals, identifying subject matter experts, providing technical best practices to help in decision making, and the lead technical support for different projects and systems.
  • 10 years - Expert level system administration skills for Microsoft Windows servers, Active Directory Administration, and other MS core services like Group Policy, DFS, DHCP, DNS, to manage, monitor, and support our Agency Managed Application Servers.
  • 7 years - Well versed in the creation, support, and maintenance of certificates for our agency core systems, 3rd party integrations, and other authentication or authorization service needs.
  • 10 years - Expert level experience in the MS Windows server administration including all current supported OS versions.
  • 10 years - Active Directory Group Policy implementation and troubleshooting.
  • 7 years - Expert knowledge in supporting certificate services.
  • 7 years - Expert experience in implementing technology best practices in an organization.
  • 7 years - MS Visio - Proven competencies in documenting infrastructure components for complex systems.
  • 7 years - Expert knowledge in configuring LDAP.
  • 5 years - Expert knowledge of multi-factor authentication services.
  • 3 years - MS Office 365 support Teams, email, other
  • 3 years- System administrator for MS Azure subscriptions and services
