What are the responsibilities and job description for the Food Shelf Manager position at IOCP - Interfaith Outreach & Community Partners?
IOCP is a nonprofit that provides services in food, case management, emergency financial assistance, employment services, and childcare resources to those residing in eight Western Hennepin County cities. We are looking for a Food Shelf Manager to provide strategic leadership to our food program. This position will be responsible for overseeing operations, guiding a high-performing team, and driving the vision for IOCP’s food program.
The Food Shelf Manager ensures that high-quality services are integrated with other IOCP programs and aligned with the organization’s mission and values. Using data-driven insights and collaborating with agency leadership, the Food Shelf Manager develops and implements a forward vision for the IOCP food program that adapts to changing needs while maintaining excellent services to our client community. What You Will Do
· Supervise, coach, support, and inspire a high performing team with a shared focus on equity, trauma informed service, and quality client experiences
· Program management ensuring that key functions including inventory, distribution, volunteer management, and program strengthening efforts run smoothly
· Source food through food banks, retailers, partners, and donors to meet the changing needs of our clients
· Manage relationships with external partners on behalf of the Food Shelf including local retailers, food banks, corporate partners, and other food shelves
· Lead the development and implementation of a forward vision for the program that responds to an evolving landscape and continues to meet the needs of our client community with excellence
· Oversee food shelf equipment and facilities to keep the program running smoothly; proactively schedule maintenance and service when needed
· Be ready to step into staff or volunteer roles where additional support is needed throughout the shift

Requirements:Schedule Requirements
· This is a full-time, 40 hour per week position
· This is work is onsite and in-person
· This schedule will include some evenings and occasional weekend hours
What You Will Bring
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in program management
· 5-10 years of experience in grocery, retail, nonprofit and/or food security sector
· Supervision experience: strong leadership and change management abilities
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and web-based Microsoft tools
· Ability to work independently and be self-directed
· Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with staff and volunteers
· Strong execution, follow-through, and problem-solving skills
· Reliable and committed; availability to adapt schedule to fill in as needed
· Ability to lift and move heavy items utilizing pallet jack, carts, and other warehouse equipment
· Ability to drive 10’ box truck
· Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
