Founded in 1863 by Queen Emma and King Kamehameha IV, 'Iolani School is an Episcopal day and boarding school in Honolulu, Hawai'i enrolling approximately 2200 students on its K-12, 25-acre urban campus.
'Iolani School seeks a full-time Upper School
History teacher for the 2025-2026 academic year to teach in at least one of the following disciplines: 7th grade Social Studies (World Geography) and 8th grade Social Studies (Hawaiian History). The position requires ongoing collaboration with teaching teams at the course and grade level.
In addition to being an active participant in our vibrant learning community, we are looking for an educator who will inspire and support our students. The ideal candidate is dynamic, a strong communicator (both written and oral) and committed to professional growth in their discipline and teaching practice.
Candidates should have a bachelor's degree or higher in History or a related discipline, as well as at least 3-5 years of teaching experience in grades 7-12. A demonstrated ability to differentiate instruction and to design lessons which make use of a wide variety of learning methods is also very important. Candidates should be comfortable designing and executing curriculum as part of a teaching team and embrace the use of instructional technology.
