What are the responsibilities and job description for the Court Reporter - Debtwire North America position at ION Group?
The Role:
Debtwire, an ION Analytics company and the leading provider of news and analysis for the global fixed income markets seeks an experienced reporter to cover the legal beat, focusing on US bankruptcy cases and high-profile distressed debt litigation. The ideal reporter has at least two to three years of experience reporting on the courts, finance, or distressed debt. The reporter will write several articles per day on the bankruptcy beat, writing up various court filings, covering hearings in-person and by phone, and live blogging key proceedings. As a member of the court team, our court reporters also work with our legal analysts and data team to build reports on the most interesting trends in the restructuring industry.
\n- Reporting, writing, and filing copy on a daily basis
- Contributing to special projects such as conferences, databases, webinars and podcasts
- Assisting with developing coverage outside of assigned beats
- Cultivating and meeting with sources
- In-region travel as necessary
- Previous experience covering the courts, finance or distressed debt.
- Strong writing skills and an investigative mindset

Salary Range:
The estimated salary range is $80,000 - $100,000. Salary is negotiable depending on experience and skills.
