Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Program Coordinator who will support the Founder and Executive Director of Finding My Relations in coordinating and implementing the Ione Band of Miwok Indians’ Missing and Murdered Indigenous People (Cohort 2) Grant Program. This role involves overseeing program activities, engaging with Tribal citizens and community partners, and ensuring that the project meets its goals of advocacy, awareness, prevention, and victim support. The Program Coordinator will handle administrative duties, organize outreach efforts, and collaborate with stakeholders to support justice initiatives for MMIP cases.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide direct support to the Founder/Executive Director in all grant-related initiatives.
- Coordinate and oversee MMIP program activities, events, and awareness campaigns.
- Assist in data collection, research, and reporting related to MMIP cases and trends.
- Maintain and update program documentation, including meeting minutes, reports, and outreach materials.
- Assist in the development and distribution of educational materials on MMIP issues for community engagement.
- Organize and facilitate MMIP task force meetings, training sessions, and public awareness events.
- Assist the Founder/Executive Director with project-related expenses and submissions.
- Support grant writing efforts to secure funding for MMIP-related initiatives.
- Establish and maintain relationships with victim advocacy organizations, Tribal coalitions, and government agencies.
- Coordinate social media and communication efforts to increase public awareness of MMIP issues.
- Assist in developing policies, procedures, and strategic plans to support MMIP prevention and response efforts.
- Handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, Social Work, Public Administration, or a related field preferred, or a minimum of two (2) years of related experience.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in program coordination, victim advocacy, public safety, or Tribal affairs.
- Experience working with MMIP initiatives, violence prevention, or victim services preferred.
- Familiarity with federal and state MMIP initiatives, Tribal justice systems, and victim rights.
- Responsible for additional duties as required or assigned.
Knowledge and Abilities
- Strong knowledge of MMIP issues, including historical and systemic factors affecting Indigenous communities.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Ability to work effectively with Tribal leadership, law enforcement, victim services, and community members.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing reports and presentations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, database management, and social media platforms.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Conditions of Employment
Successful candidate will be required to pass a pre-employment background investigation.
