SENIOR SCIENTIST, NEUROLOGY RESEARCH
SUMMARY:
We are seeking a highly qualified and motivated individual to join the Neurology Research drug discovery team at Ionis. This position will involve work with in vitro and in vivo models of neurological disorders. Outcome measures will include a wide range of molecular and cell biology assays.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Ph.D. in the Biological Sciences; experience in Neuroscience is preferred
- At least 2 years postdoctoral or professional experience in an academic or industry research setting
- Broad expertise in laboratory techniques (e.g. RNA isolation/qPCR, immunohistochemistry, microscopy, image analysis) required
- Experience with animal handling/small rodent surgeries is preferred
- Experience with aseptic cell culture techniques and practices for primary mammalian and/or iPSC culture is preferred
- Excellent skills in communication, presentation, collaboration, time-management, lab record keeping, and organizational are required
- Ability to be productive and successful in an intense work environment
