In addition, the internship program allows students to grow both professionally and personally through interactions with research and business professionals in support of projects aligned with department initiatives. Students will learn and work under a practicing professional who will provide guidance and mentorship.
Regulatory Affairs
Summary
Seeking an intern that would be introduced to the basics of Regulatory Affairs for a pharmaceutical company by being an active team member within the Commercial Regulatory function. As an intern, you will support key initiatives across the Commercial Regulatory team such as conducting a thorough review of recent FDA’s Office of Prescription Drug Promotion enforcements, National Advertising Division complaints and/or any Federal Trade commission complaints. Upon completion of the research, the intern will analyze the findings, and develop a risk road map and how this will impact development of future promotional materials. Additionally, the intern will interact on a daily basis with multiple business functions, including Commercial, Medical Affairs, Legal/Compliance as part of their daily function.
The pay scale for this position is $18 to $23 per hour.

- Assist the assigned Commercial Regulatory lead in various activities to gain insight into Ionis’ processes
- Research and present regulatory updates and industry intelligence to the regulatory department, cross-functional teams including senior leadership
- The program is designed to complement a student’s undergraduate and/or Graduate studies with relevant, hands-on industry experience

- MUST be currently enrolled in a U.S. Undergraduate Program and not graduating prior to the completion of the Ionis internship.
- MUST be able to begin internship between 6/9 and 6/16/2025
- MUST be able and willing to remain in the program through at least 8/15/2025
- MUST be able and willing to commit to a minimum 40-hour workweek and work onsite in Carlsbad, CA.
