Job Title: Database Administrator (DBA)
Job Summary:The Database Administrator (DBA) is responsible for managing and maintaining the organization’s databases to ensure their availability, integrity, and security. The DBA will collaborate with various teams to optimize performance, implement backups, and troubleshoot issues related to databases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Database Management: Install, configure, and maintain databases such as SQL, MySQL, Oracle, or others as required.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor database performance, identifying and resolving issues to ensure optimal performance.
- Backup & Recovery: Implement and manage backup strategies and disaster recovery plans to safeguard data.
- Security: Ensure data security, implement access controls, and manage user permissions.
- Data Integrity: Perform regular audits and checks on databases to maintain data integrity and prevent corruption.
- Troubleshooting & Support: Provide support for database-related issues and resolve database performance or connectivity problems.
- Database Optimization: Tune queries, indexes, and database schemas for better performance.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation for database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
- Collaboration: Work with application developers, system administrators, and other IT staff to ensure efficient database systems.
- Updates & Patches: Regularly apply updates, patches, and new releases to keep the database environment current.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong experience with database management systems such as SQL, MySQL, Oracle, or others.
- Proficiency in database tuning, query optimization, and performance monitoring.
- Experience with backup and recovery strategies.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of database security practices and user management.
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell) is a plus.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle database-related issues in a timely manner.
- Good communication skills to collaborate with various teams.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15,000.00 - $20,048.00 per month
