Senior Software Release Engineer

IonQ is developing the world's most powerful full-stack quantum computer based on trapped-ion technology. The salary range for this position is $153,003 - $200,321.

We are looking for a Senior Software Release Engineer to help develop the infrastructure required to build and release the software platform that runs our quantum computers. Never worked in quantum computing before? It's much like a system for a robot, managing feedback loops at various time scales between sensors and actuators to create a precisely tuned environment where we can perform high fidelity quantum computations. In this role, you'll help :

Responsibilities :

• Manage source code repositories to track changes and ensure version consistency.
• Automate the build pipeline to create executable software from source code.
• Overseeing testing procedures to identify and address defects before software release.
• Planning and executing software releases, often involving multiple teams and hardware environments.
• Ensuring that production environments mirror development and testing environments.
• Maintaining comprehensive release documentation for troubleshooting and future reference.

Compensation will vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Posted base salary figures are subject to change as new market data becomes available. IonQ's HQ is located in College Park, Maryland, a quick 15-minute metro from Washington DC. We are actively building out our recently opened manufacturing and production facility in Bothell, WA (near Seattle). Depending on the position, you may be required to be near one of our offices in College Park, Seattle, or Toronto.
