What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inventory Assistant position at Iovance Biotherapeutics Inc?
Overview
This position will support laboratory staff by maintaining the inventory of common use laboratory reagents and consumables and by ordering, receiving, and stocking all labs with necessary supplies.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Must adhere to Iovance Biotherapeutics’ core values, policies, procedures, and business ethics.
- Comply with Safety SOPs, SDS sheets, and laboratory procedures per company policy and OSHA regulations.
- Responsible for ordering and receiving all common stock lab consumables and reagents.
- Responsible for tracking inventory of common stock lab consumables and reagents.
- Receive, unpack, and properly distribute all packages arriving at the facility to include items ordered by scientists.
- Maintain the receiving log.
- Stock individual labs with supplies as needed.
- Coordinate with Lab Manager and scientists on special orders and supplies.
- Establish and maintain a relationship with vendors and suppliers
- Coordinate with scientists to troubleshoot any issues with missing or incorrect items from suppliers.
- Maintain an up-to-date supplier list with complete contact information.
- Assist with package pickups, to include labels and appropriate DOT regulations and guidelines.
- Follow quality control plans and GMP requirements and guidelines as appropriate.
- Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Required Education, Skills, and Knowledge
- Associates degree or equivalent experience in supply chain and inventory control.
Preferred Education, Skills, and Knowledge
- 1-2 years of relevant supply chain or inventory control experience

Physical Demands and Activities Required
- Must be able to move to and from the office to the lab located on separate floors and move about the office and lab as needed.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position standing or sitting for prolonged periods of time.
- Must be able to move and lift containers of fluid weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Wear proper personal protective equipment when in a laboratory setting, i.e., safety glasses, lab coats, and closed-toed shoes.
Mental: Clear and conceptual thinking ability; excellent judgment, troubleshooting, problem-solving, analysis, and discretion; ability to handle work-related stress; ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously; and ability to meet deadlines
Work Environment
This position will work in both an office and a laboratory setting. When in the lab, there may be a risk of exposure to hazardous or biological waste within the environment through receipt, transport, storage, preparation, dispensing, administration, cleaning, and/or disposal of contaminated areas and waste.
