The Iowa 80 Group Accounting team has a new opening for its Iowa80.com Accounting Assistant position. This individual will hold a high level of accountability in providing our managers with the most accurate auditing of sales for Iowa80.com. This individual will succeed by providing fast and friendly service, and accurate verification of sales information.
Responsibilities
- Verifies and audits the daily sales of each assigned department. Ensures that cash, credit card, and other payments are paid and properly applied.
- Ensures accurate daily posting of deposits and accounts payable invoices.
- Mails out Customer Statements.
- Verifies invoices, checking quantities, part numbers, freight charges, etc., and processes them in AP.
- Reconciles vendor statements, requests missing invoices or credits, communicates about missing products, and fields questions about past due invoices.
- Effectively works with and communicates over the phone, in person, and electronically with the Iowa80.com Distribution Center, its vendors, the Accounts Payable Department, Call Center Associates, and the Controller of Iowa80.com
- Ability to solve problems, receiving errors, shortages, damaged products, etc., and stay with issues until they have been resolved.
- Assists with inventory management.
- Meets daily, weekly, and monthly deadlines.
- Continuously works to improve processes inside the Warehouse Management System (WMS)
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned by the Iowa80.Com Controller, Iowa 80 Group Assistant Controller, and Assistant Treasurer.
Requirements
- Associate degree in accounting, or the like.
- Must have excellent mathematical and communication skills.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft WORD and EXCEL or similar word processing and spreadsheet software is a plus.
- Knowledge of OnBase is a plus but not required.
- Well organized and disciplined, but also flexible when appropriate.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills. Must have the ability to get along with diverse personalities.
- Must have a burning desire to learn and grow.
