What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accountant III position at Iowa Bankers Insurance & Services, Inc?
The Accountant III will prepare, maintain and coordinate accounting department functions and workflow including general ledgers, accounts receivable, accounts payable, events management and cash reporting for Iowa Bankers and affiliates, while working in a team environment, by performing the following duties :
- Perform or review daily and monthly transaction analysis, activity reports, and reconciliations of ledger and subledger accounts for the mortgage, cash, credit card sales, receivable, premiums, payables, and prepaid accounts, working with departments across the organization and outside customers and vendors to resolve complex issues and discrepancies.
- Enhance and improve internal controls and policies and procedures in the accounting of the mortgage operation and provide additional backup coverage.
- Provide excellent client service to internal departments and have a positive and willing attitude to meet their needs.
- Assists with coordination and preparation of records and reports for internal users and annual audit and tax returns. Required Education : Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university Required Work Experience : Three or more years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
