What are the responsibilities and job description for the Agency Services Retail Health/Life Marketing Representative position at Iowa Bankers Insurance & Services, Inc?
The Retail Health/Life Marketing Rep will service & markets health, dental, vision, life/disability products, and voluntary benefits to current and prospective customers; prepares and presents comprehensive sales proposals through IBIS retail agency. The essential job duties for this position include:
- Presents written, verbal and in-person renewal recommendations to existing retail health insurance group customers. Maintaining and fostering current relationships and the ability to create new opportunities.
- Markets health, life, and disability programs to current and prospective clients, banks and agencies; Prepares and presents comprehensive sales proposals. Coordinates and conducts product training for implementation of coverages.
- Communicates with the carriers to resolve day to day customer inquiries and identifying any issues. Provides training and back up for departmental support staff.
- Composes sales and activity reports; Assists managers with product development plans. Prepares correspondence on a regular basis to bank agents/agencies to keep them apprised of current markets that we serve and product updates.
Required Education: Bachelor's degree (BA) in marketing or equivalent from four-year college or university.
Required Work Experience: At least one to three years of insurance related work experience including either sales/marketing and customer service; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Technology Skills: Must have the ability to operate a computer terminal, LCD projector, telephone, and calculator.
Required skills or traits for the position: Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, insurance policies or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Specialized Training/Certification: Must have a valid Iowa driver's license and Iowa accident, health, and life licenses or willing to get within 60 Days.
Travel Requirements: This position will be expected to travel up to 50 days per year.
