Description Summary
The dean is responsible for the supervision, leadership and vision of the departments.
Examples of Duties
Constant (67-100%)
- Assist instructors in planning and developing effective programs to meet the needs of students.
- Assist in improving instruction through curriculum development, scheduling and providing instructional materials to faculty members within the departments.
- Maintain cooperative relationships with professional personnel, local organizations, public officials, and other groups.
- Develop a schedule of classes.
- Evaluate assigned personnel within the department.
- Collaborate with personnel in the Enrollment Management and Student Development area in regard to student recruitment, placement and follow-up.
- Conduct department meetings and supervise committee work and documentation of minutes.

Qualifications
Minimum of Master's Degree in a discipline within one of the departments. Ph.D. preferred. Four years of successful educational work experience of which a minimum of two years must have been at the community college level. Experience must include a minimum of two years of full-time teaching experience.
