What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Coach, Bowling position at Iowa Central Community College?
Description Summary
The Assistant Men’s and Women’s Bowling Coach will also serve in a second college assignment of one of the following: Athletic Coordinator, Housing Coordinator, Student Development Assistant, or Intermural and Student Life and Activities Coordinator. The employment in the above position is contingent upon the Assistant Coach being employed in both assigned positions.
Examples of Duties
Constant (67-100%)
- Recruitment of prospective student athletes. Including phone calls and high school visits.
- Daily coaching sessions, both team and individual.
- Assisting with academic progress of student athletes (study tables).
- Coach the sport of bowling and develop a team cohesiveness that reflects the pride of Iowa Central Community College.
- Recruitment and assessment of appropriate student-athletes with the academic background and athletic talent needed to be competitive in a NJCAA Division I program.
- Assist in the management of the athletes’ performance during practice and competition.
- Assist in formulating and initiating practices, drills and workout schedules.
- Provide authoritative figure for residents.
- Identify staff needs and take action to meet those needs.
- Responsible for distribution and accumulation of grades for team, as well as grade checks.
- Implementing off-season workouts.
- Coordinate team travel.
- Assist head coach with fundraising projects.
- Attend meetings as necessary.
- Assist in the promotion and support of the department.
- Help with end of year athletic report.
- Assist in special enrollment days.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

6. Must be able to get along with diverse personalities.
7. Keep accurate office hours.
