Description Summary
Responsible for assisting the head rugby coach in all aspects of coaching. This involves recruiting, retaining members, fundraising, study tables, grade checks and overall in-season/off-season strategies/programs. Responsible for the reserve side and supporting the reserve side
The Assistant Rugby Coach will also serve in a second college assignment of one of the following: Athletic Coordinator, Housing Coordinator, Student Development Assistant, or Intermural and Student Life and Activities Coordinator. The employment in the above position is contingent upon the Assistant Coach being employed in both assigned positions.
Examples of Duties
Constant (67-100%)
- Assist the head coach in managing and directing the rugby program.
- Assist the head coach with all aspects of the team including training, competing, and scheduling.
- Assist with the academic progress of student athletes.
- Assists with recruiting including calling, texting, social media and high school visits of prospective student athletes.
- Responsible for the reserve side and support staff.
- Commits to and is responsible for adhering to all rules and regulations set forth for the team, the College, USA Rugby and the conference with the utmost integrity.
- Travel outside the Area V recruitment areas.
- Responsible for distribution and accumulation of grades for team, as well as grade checks.
- Implementing off season workouts.
- Assist head coach with fundraising projects.
- Assist in the promotion and support of the department.
- Other duties as assigned.

5. Possess ability to work efficiently and accurately in an atmosphere of frequent interruption.
6. Must be able to get along with diverse personalities.
7. Keep accurate office hours.
Qualifications
Associate’s degree required, Bachelor’s preferred. College playing experience preferred, coaching experience at the collegiate level preferred. Must hold a current Class C Driver’s License with Passenger Endorsement or willingness to complete prior to athletic season.
