Job Description
Iowa Central Community College is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Part-Time Assistant Track & Field Coach specializing in Pole Vault to join our coaching staff. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coaching and developing our pole vault athletes, recruiting, and assisting with the overall success of the track and field program.
Responsibilities:
- Coaching & Training
- Design and implement pole vault-specific workouts and technical training.
- Develop strength and conditioning programs tailored for pole vaulters.
- Modify workouts based on athlete progress, skill level, and injury prevention.
- Recruitment & Retention
- Identify and recruit student-athletes.
- Foster a positive training environment to enhance athlete retention and development.
- Competition & Logistics
- Transport athletes to competitions and assist with travel logistics.
- Maintain pole vault equipment.
- Administrative Duties
- Assist with office tasks and adhere to all NJCAA guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Track & Field.
Qualifications & Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of pole vault techniques, training methods, and progressions.
- Understanding of pole vault equipment, including different pole sizes and specifications.
- Ability to modify workouts to fit individual athlete needs and skill levels.
- Strong organizational and office skills, including proficiency with Google Sheets.
- Ability to adhere to all NJCAA rules and maintain program compliance.
- Prior coaching/competition experience at the college or high school level is preferred.

Pay: $16,000.00 per year
