- Provide quality customer service to clients, suppliers, College staff and the public.
- Perform routine testing of fuel samples with knowledge of both basic and advanced testing methods including some chromatographic and spectrographic techniques.
- Oversee the maintenance and proper completion of instrument log books including sample logs, calibration logs, and maintenance logs.
- Ensure the proper functioning of instruments and oversee or assist routine instrument maintenance and small repairs.
- Oversee or assist in maintaining laboratory cleanliness.
- Assist with the coordination of daily work priorities and assist in communicating priorities to laboratory staff.
- Perform duties in a manner that is compliant with the BQ-9000, ISO 9001, and ISO 17025 quality programs.
- Review Certificates of Analysis.
- Perform duties as the Laboratory Safety Manager. Duties include routine testing of safety equipment, monitoring compliance with safety rules and regulations, and performing safety training.
- Assist with running certified reference standards, maintaining current stocks of certified materials, and ensure the removal and proper disposal of expired reference materials.
- Oversee or assist in monitoring the inventory of general supplies and chemicals.
- Employ revised or new methods in compliance with BQ-9000, ISO 9001 and ISO 17025 certification standards.
- Participate in BQ-9000, ISO 9001 and ISO 17025 internal and external audits as required.
- Participate in management review meetings and other Laboratory meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
