What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shop Operations Lead position at Iowa County?
The Iowa County Highway Department is seeking applicants for a Shop Operations Lead. General job duties include coordinate, manage, schedule, oversee and perform shop and fleet operations related to mechanical repairs, general routine maintenance, welding, fabrication, and repairs of department fleet of vehicles, machinery and equipment. Starting salary range is $33.00 / hr. - $37.72 / hr. with a generous comprehensive benefit package.
Applicant requirements : High school diploma / GED required (must be at least 18 years of age), minimum of a 2-year Associates degree as an automotive and / or diesel mechanic technician, 5 years of experience on the job training with increasingly complex mechanical repairs, 2 years of supervisory experience as a Shop Manager or Lead Technician, and a Valid Class D Driver’s License with a preference for a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Classes A, B, and C, with N endorsement and no air brakes restrictions or allowed to acquire within six months of hire date. Candidates must have recent demonstrated proficiency inspecting and performing scheduled preventative maintenance and emergency repair work on a variety of equipment including, but not limited to automobiles, pickup trucks, heavy trucks and earthmoving or paving equipment. Preference for, but must be capable of attaining within the first year of hire date; candidates with the following licenses / certifications : ASE mechanical certifications or equivalent; DATCP Class A / B Petroleum Equipment Operator; OSHA certified Forklift Operator and Forklift Train-the-Trainer; and First Aid, CPR, AED certified.
