What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resources Generalist position at Iowa Digestive Disease center?
This role requires HR benefit coordination, insurance management, and serve as a resource to all employees with Human Resource Concerns. Will assist with typical Human Resources function that aid in the growth and prosperity of the business. Acts as a reference for employment law concerns. Aids the administrative staff with the recruitment, interview, and development processes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Human Resource Duties
Performs in accordance with the adopted standards and approved policies and procedures.
Participation as a team member in support of the total clinic/care processes. Must maintain patient and facility confidentiality.
Supports risk management and participates in programs that are directed to patient and employee safety.
Attends and participates in in-service programs and educational endeavors.
Ensures staff satisfaction and customer service while dealing with potentially difficult communication with employees.
Communicates with CEO, Providers, staff and other leadership in a positive manner.
Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications. Enrolls new employees in the system and offers benefit consultation/support as needed.
Oversees correct application of HR policies and adherence to regulations governing employment.
Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, and professional licensure.
Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff. Address employee concerns, mediation conflicts, investigating complaints and providing guidance on company policies.
Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
Communicate company policies, updates, and accouchements to employees through various channels.
Performs other duties as assigned.
