Position Summary: | |
The HR Generalist is responsible for managing a wide range of HR responsibilities with confidence and competence. Primary responsibilities include efficiently and effectively administering IDN’s benefit plans, leave of absence process, and compliance initiatives. To be successful in this role, one must demonstrate above average attention to details, exhibit excellent customer service skills, have strong follow-through on tasks and assignments, and display exceptional problem-solving abilities. | |
Essential Functions and Performance Responsibilities: | |
- Confidently serve as the main point of contact by advising, counseling, and consulting IDN staff and leaders on all areas of human resources including but not limited to benefits, leaves of absence, wage and hour, state & federal regulations, and organizational policies.
- Support leaders and staff through crucial conversations that may be sensitive in nature.
- Adhere to and confidently create and execute training to facilitate employee knowledge and understanding of IDN policies and standard procedures.
- Maintain high standards of confidentiality, quality and accuracy in all tasks.
- Independently oversee the administration of IDN’s benefit programs.
- Lead the annual open enrollment process, ACA filings, and day-to-day plan administration
- Facilitate the enrollment process by conducting educational meetings with staff confirming they have a clear understanding of benefit plans and coverage options.
- Serve as the liaison between staff and IDN benefit vendors and brokers.
- Collaborate with Finance to complete monthly billing reconciliations ensuring accuracy between payroll deductions, finance, and carrier records.
- Ensure organizational compliance with OSHA, federal and state employment laws, and other regulations and IDN policies.
- Facilitate the leave and accommodation process by working with leave administrator while adhering to required notifications and timelines.
- Stay current on state & federal laws and regulations in regard to benefits, leave of absence, and other HR related matters.
- Lead IDN’s performance management process.
- Administer the organizational performance management system.
- Provide training and support to leaders and staff to ensure understanding of expectations and the ability to effectively execute each process.
- Facilitate the annual performance review process from start to finish.
- Assist in facilitating new employee onboarding and orientation processes.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of required documentation and other processes.
- Track and follow-up on completion of all onboarding trainings and other required new employee tasks
- Facilitate the I-9 documentation process in compliance with federal regulations as needed.
- Accurately maintain IDN’s HRIS and ensure the integrity of employee data
- Gather and report monthly HR Metrics
- Serve as a resource to leaders by providing data and reports to help identify trends, and opportunities for improvement in staffing capacity and other areas as needed.
- Serve as a backup in all areas of HR.
- Complete all documentation and tracking required for HR records; conduct periodic audits.
Collaborate closely with Finance to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing - Ensure timely distribution of all payroll changes for bi-weekly payroll processing
- Facilitate conversations with employees regarding compensation and benefits
- Exhibit an understanding of the payroll process to support staff and leaders

| Position Qualifications and Education Requirements: | |
| Bachelor’s degree in Business or Human Resources required; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience. A minimum of three years’ experience in human resources successfully performing tasks and projects in multiple HR focus areas including but not limited benefit administration, performance management, and/or leave administration. Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to successfully perform the work will be considered. PHR/SPHR certification desirable. Successful candidate will be supported in preparing for and completing the HR certification exam within the first year of employment. | |

- Effectively use computers and computer software including word processing, databases, spreadsheets, Internet tools, and electronic mail. Knowledge of MS Word and Excel required.
