Job Title: Respite Service Supervisor
Reports to: Director or Lead Service Supervisor
Job Summary:
The Service Supervisor position will supervise Respite services ensuring high quality services are provided in an efficient manner in compliance with state and federal regulations. Timely and direct communication with families, supervisors, case managers/MCO’s and respite providers is essential to the position.
Required Qualifications:
- Must have a passion for providing excellent consumer centered services.
- Requires a bachelor’s degree in a human-service or education-related field, or a combination of education and experience.
- Ability to drive to various locations for meetings and appointments as needed.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have excellent organizational skills and be self-motivated.
- Experience with HCBS Waiver services.
- Have a valid driver’s license.
- Have access to a reliable vehicle.
- Have a cell phone.
- Must complete Mandatory Child and Dependent Adult Abuse Reporting training, as required by the Department of Human Services and any other required trainings per HCBS guidelines.
- Must show proof of COVID-19 vaccination
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Provide excellent customer service, with “customer” defined as consumers, parents/guardians, direct care staff, and case managers/MCO’s
- Supervise consumer’s individualized respite needs and communicate effectively and efficiently with respite providers, case managers/MCO’s and families.
- Facilitate the introduction of new staff to consumers and provide orientation and training for the specific needs of the consumer.
- Find creative and effective ways to provide respite to ensure the consumer will have the greatest level of success.
- Review Medicaid respite documentation for services to consumers to ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations.
- Coordinate services including completing iFS paperwork annually with case managers/MCO’s, including meeting in the consumer’s home.
- Provide reports to case managers as requested based on documentation, observation and communication with consumers and staff.
- Communication with parents/guardians any behaviors or unusual occurrences during respite and the consumer’s response to those interventions.
- Supervise providers on an as needed basis to ensure policies and procedures are followed in the delivery of respite services.
- Support respite providers in meeting emotional demands of the consumer and their family, including but not limited to, recommending de-escalation techniques.
- Hours are flexible to 40 hours a week; some evening meetings may be required to meet the needs of respite families
