Summary:
These operators are setting up and operating the CNC machines proficiently and editing a CNC program for proper function.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Interpret advance engineering drawings, understanding design requirement including datums, critical dimensions and tolerances.
- Sets up CNC machining and / or turning centers to achieve required specifications.
- Effectively program, setup, & operate multiple CNC machines producing high quality parts.
- Monitor parts to ensure adherence to drawings and within tolerances.
- Shape, sharpen, set cutter & adjust tools to achieve desired print tolerance.
- Knowledge & ability to setup bore gauges & other measuring equipment.
- Complete all required paperwork, including labor reporting & documentation of quality control & material movement.
- Continually on the move, prepping / moving heavy parts.
- Being a reliable and punctual team member.
Basic Qualifications:
- Advanced blueprint reading, mathematical and technical skills.
- Ability to use standard tooling such as, micrometers, calipers, height gages, etc.
- Basic knowledge of boring bars, drills and other required tooling used to run a CNC machine.
- Frequent lifting / carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Lifting devices are available and recommended.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1 year experience beneficial.
- Ability to read blueprints, understanding tolerances.
- Basic knowledge of different material types is beneficial.
- HS diploma or GED.
