What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chief Financial Officer position at Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation?
This position provides leadership plus the financial, accounting and transactional technical expertise required for the successful operation of Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation (INHF). This fiscal management is needed for the organization to successfully initiate and execute the large, complex land protection projects and diverse conservation programs that are central to its nonprofit mission.
This Senior Leadership position performs critical finance and accounting operational tasks; provides special knowledge and expertise related to mission-centric projects and activity; collaborates with peers and colleagues to improve operations and results; and provides insight and analysis to equip leaders to set direction and make informed decisions.
The position reports directly to the President of INHF, has responsibility and authority over all accounting functions at INHF and provides supervision to the Senior Accountant position. The INHF CFO works closely with leadership staff to best serve the needs of their respective departments.
The new hire will work with the current CFO for training before taking over responsibility of duties. This full-time equivalent exempt position typically involves at least 40 hours per week. Occasional travel for board meetings is required, and there is opportunity for travel to events and project meetings.
