Iowa Orthopedic Center is actively seeking an Senior Facilities Technician. The Senior Facilities Technician is responsible for the operation, repair, and maintenance of Iowa Ortho facilities, ensuring a safe and efficient environment. The role involves collaborating with contractors, vendors, and internal teams to uphold Iowa Ortho’s high standards.
Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the Senior Facilities Technician handles daily maintenance tasks, participates in construction projects, and provides feedback on project progress and requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with facility-related projects and maintenance tasks in accordance with established guidelines.
- Coordinate with and oversee, contractors, vendors, and service providers for repairs, maintenance, and improvements.
- Provide input on contracts and bids, supporting the Facilities Manager in ensuring all agreements align with Iowa Ortho’s operational and budgetary requirements.
- Participate in construction project meetings, providing input on project progress, requirements, and timelines.
- Conduct routine facility inspections to identify and address maintenance needs.
- Respond to work orders and ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.
- Perform minor repairs, including lighting, plumbing, HVAC, and general building maintenance.
- Monitor HVAC systems and other building operations to ensure optimal performance.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and safety standards.
- Educate staff on the appropriate use of building systems and mechanical equipment.
- Assist with furniture moves, workspace adjustments, and small construction projects.
- Maintain facility grounds, including snow removal and basic exterior upkeep.
- Manage inventory and order maintenance supplies as needed.
- Collaborate with all Iowa Ortho departments to maintain a safe, efficient, and productive work environment.
- Must be available to be on call as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager.
- Maintain regular attendance.
Requirements
- High school diploma
- Four plus years of experience in facilities maintenance
- One or more years of supervisory experience
- Preferred: Advanced technical designation or degree related to field experience
- Ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy and pay strict attention to detail
- Analytical, organizational, and problem solving skill set
- Excellent oral and written communication skill set
- Strong leadership skill set
- Business knowledge in the medical or facilities field
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Preferred: Electrical, plumbing, HVAC, engineering, and general building maintenance skills
- Basic computer skills
