Iowa Orthopedic Center is actively seeking a Workers Compensation Coordinator. Our Work Comp Coordinator plays a vital role in managing our workers’ compensation including communicating and coordinating with our Iowa Ortho physicians and staff, case managers, adjusters, patients and others involved in the process.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Schedule appointments pertaining to Work Comp injuries for the Iowa Ortho Physicians, including office visits and imaging, along with scheduling 2nd opinion, transfer of care and IME appointments.
- Coordinate with Case Managers or Adjusters to ensure that authorization is obtained, required medical records are received and interpreter is confirmed if needed for all visits.
- Document date, time, and to whom we spoke for all interactions.
- Handle all incoming phone calls from case managers, adjusters, and patients in a timely courteous manner
- Track all scheduled tests and ensure results are received for upcoming appointments.
Hours of the position are Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM. Following an initial training period, this role will work a hybrid schedule.
Requirements
- Prior experience in workers’ compensation preferred
- At least two years of experience in a fast paced medical environment
- Excellent communication skills including an ability to interact with both internal staff and external customers
- Must be highly detailed oriented with exceptional documentation skills
