The Iowa Primary Care Association is actively recruiting a general dentist for a community health center, also called a federally qualified health center, in Marshalltown, Iowa.
Position Details:
- Eligible for student loan repayment up to $50,000 for two years of service (and eligible to renew)
- Clinic Hours: Monday – Friday; 8 AM – 5PM
- Average # Patients seen per day: 13 hygiene checks.
- Current Staff: 2 general dentists and 2 registered dental hygienists. DA:DDS ratio = 2.5:1
- Evenings/weekends: none
- Call: After 6 months of employment, dentists are expected to take call in 2 week increments, approximately 3x/year. This is after hours call, over the phone only.

- Current license to practice dentistry in the state of Iowa.
- Current registration with the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and Iowa Board of Pharmacy Examiners (CSA).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers Certification recognized by the American Heart Association.
- Current Mandatory Reporter Training: Child and Dependent Adult Abuse recognized by the Iowa Department of Public Health.
Ideal Qualifications:
- Bilingual in English/Spanish
- Desire to pursue a long-term career in community health
- GPR or AEGD residency completion
- Interest and experience in pediatric dentistry and oral surgery
- Your experience and skills determine your base pay. The hiring range for this position is typically $150,000 - 170,000, though highly experienced candidates may earn up to $204,000 per year.
