The ideal Mammographer will play a crucial role in helping us continue to be the premier provider of radiologic services in Iowa by providing high-quality imaging services, ensuring patient safety, and delivering accurate diagnostic information.
- Produces mammograms on patients using established techniques and procedures.
- Prepares patient for mammogram and informs patient about details of the exam.
- Performs DXA Bone Densitometry.
- Provides radiation protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards.
- Assists in performing first aid as necessary.
- Records pertinent patient and family medical history.
- Performs quality control on all assigned equipment.
- Assists in general Xray and Fluoroscopy when needed.
- Attend staff meetings.
- Assist with phones when available.
- Report problems related to staffing, morale, work methods, and procedures to Clinic Supervisor.
- Inform Clinic Supervisor of equipment repair and supply needs.
- Functions other than those described above due to extenuating circumstances.
- Graduation from an AMA approved school of radiological technology.
- ARRT registered with a current state permit to practice.
- Upon hire, must complete 40 hours of education on mammography.
- Must become registered in mammography within 18 months of hire.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Continuous speaking, hearing, and visual effort.
- Must have the ability to communicate effectively and work independently.
- Continuous mental and visual concentration requiring attention-to-detail and accuracy.
- Working conditions are typical to a normal office or individual home office environment.
- Must possess manual dexterity to operate computer and other office equipment.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks associated with technology use (phone, computer, applications, and software).
- Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, or crouch as part of job functions.
- Ability to lift and carry up to a maximum of twenty-five (25) pounds when necessary.
