Child Care Provider / Teacher
Overview:
Kids Korner Day Care Center DBA First Steps Early Learning Center is a well-established childcare facility in Clarion, Iowa, providing service to the community for 38 years. We offer complete family services for ages ranging from 6 weeks to 12 years old.
Our mission is to provide an environment to set children up for success. We accomplish this by providing a happy, safe and nurturing atmosphere with positive interactions to build foundational skills. We are seeking a child care provider to join our team! We are looking for someone who is caring, dependable and passionate about shaping the minds of our youth. This position requires energy, movement and creativity. The ideal candidate is someone who can have fun with the children and maintain a positive, caring and healthy attitude while facilitating activities.
Responsibilities:
- Keeps a constant watch over the children and is aware of their location at all times.
- Assists other staff in creating routines, offering planned curriculum and maintaining a respectful, safe environment
- Works cooperatively with children, parents, supervisors and other child care staff to provide a professional, competent childcare program
- Respects and maintains confidentiality of all information about the child and parent during and after employment
- Supervises children during inside and outside activities and interacts with the children to enhance learning
- Serves as a proper role model for the children
- Maintains a good public and professional image at all times
- Ensures that all interactive areas are maintained throughout the day to provide a safe and sanitary environment
- Provide emotional support to distressed children
- Ability to build a relationship with parents and children alike
- Be able to adhere to all Licensing Minimum Standards
- Assist with opening or closing to maintain center hours
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma / GED preferred but not required
- Must pass all DHS requirements.
- Must be willing to receive CPR and First Aid certifications and complete all required trainings within the first 90 days,
- Caring and compassionate attitude
- Previous experience in childcare is a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Passionate about working with children
- Exhibits flexibility and willingness to accept change
- Positive and patient demeanor
