Responsibilities
Seasonal, part-time, ongoing position for up to 264 hours per year. Must be able to work variable hours as needed. Hourly wage rate will be commensurate with experience. Travel will be reimbursed at the IRS rate. Reports directly to the Regional Director and with employment by the Jefferson County Extension Council. Equal Opportunity Employer.

This seasonal, part-time position provides delivery of agriculture and horticultural programs and information.
Responsibilities
- Develop, coordinate, implement, and evaluate agriculture and horticulture workshops, events, and projects on-site and in the community.
- Respond to consumer horticulture, entomology, and agriculture questions in and out of the office setting.
- Coordinate with local food efforts by providing educational opportunities at the local farmer market and other events.
- Write press releases and create social media posts as needed to promote programs and resources.
- Serve as a liaison between the county Extension Office and other groups
- Keep a daily client log/call report to be used as a database for programming.
- Experience teaching and/or leading group activities with youth and adults
- Two to 4 years with horticulture or agriculture experience
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in horticulture or agriculture preferred
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Computer skills that include Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Publisher
- Employment contingent on successful background screening.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision from professional staff & supervise other
- Capable of lifting 40 lbs. or more
