Interns assist program coordinators in the delivery of research-based educational programming, summer camps, and the Story County Fair. May assist with responding to client requests for technical assistance. Maintains a close working relationship with county staff, regional director, and program specialists. Through public relations activities and networking, will be locally recognized as an Extension professional. Assists with collecting and disseminating information to the Extension Council and others about activities. Assists with reporting and evaluating the impact of programs.
Qualifications
High School diploma/equivalent. Enrollment in or recent graduation from an undergraduate education program. Strong written and oral communication skills. Team player, people-oriented, and the ability to work with youth and adults. Problem solving skills, ability to multi-task and organize. Skilled in MS Office, data entry, e-mail, and social media. Must be able to be approved under our child protection policy with a background check.
Additional Information
Supervisor: Regional Director with day-to-day supervision by the program coordinator.
Pay rate: $16.00/hr.
Schedule type: Schedule to be determined upon hire, may include nights and weekends.
Schedule or # of hrs./wk.: Variable depending upon time of year, programmatic needs, and duties assigned.
