Summary of Responsibilities:

The Victim Services Director plays a pivotal role in program administration and providing critical support to crime victims. This role entails delivering comprehensive victim services, referrals, and assistance to individuals and families impacted by a range of crimes, including but not limited to domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, stalking, and property crimes. In addition to hands-on victim support, the position encompasses directing, coordinating, and exhibiting expert leadership in administrative efforts to secure and accurately manage grant funding.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough victim interviews, skillfully assess needs, and facilitate intake procedures with sensitivity and empathy.
  • Monitor and optimize operational efficacy by proactively addressing staffing, supplies, and facility-related matters.
  • Foster collaborative partnerships with a diverse array of local stakeholders, including social services, law enforcement agencies, tribal courts, health organizations, and the local Housing Authority.
  • Develop, craft, and submit detailed monthly, quarterly, and annual reports tailored for Executive Director, tribal council, and funding agencies.
  • Supervise and execute the strategic implementation of objectives for federally funded grant initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Provide proactive assistance to departmental staff and Managers, offering guidance and expertise to enhance overall service delivery.
  • Manage comprehensive grant-related documentation, prepare and submit all requisite forms and reports to funding sources.
  • Identify, pursue, and maintain compliance with available grants, demonstrating an understanding of funding regulations and requirements.
  • Demonstrate financial acumen by creating, updating, and maintaining multiple budgets sourced from a diverse array of funding channels.
  • Exhibit full accountability for all facets of employee management, encompassing recruitment, comprehensive training, scheduling, active supervision, evaluation, and handling disciplinary actions and staff development.
  • Fulfill other duties as assigned by the ITO Executive Director.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or related Human Service Field.
  • Minimum two years of experience working with crime victims, especially domestic violence cases.
  • Preferred experience in grant writing and management.
  • At least two years of hands-on supervisory experience with demonstrated staff management skills.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • In-depth knowledge of evidence-based practices in social work, allowing for effective program development and evaluation.
  • Familiarity with trauma-informed care and its application in various settings, promoting a supportive and healing environment for clients.
  • Awareness of cultural competency models and practices to facilitate equitable service delivery to diverse populations.
  • Understanding of organizational management principles, including budgeting, resource allocation, and strategic planning.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, enabling the effective guidance and motivation of staff.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, fostering productive relationships with clients, staff, and stakeholders.
  • Proficient crisis intervention skills, ensuring a swift and appropriate response in high-pressure situations.
  • Skilled in conflict resolution and mediation, promoting healthy communication and resolution within teams.
  • Skillful in program development, implementation, and evaluation, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and client needs.
  • Effective delegation skills, empowering team members and optimizing work distribution.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage caseloads, administrative tasks, and team responsibilities efficiently.
  • Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, fostering a holistic approach to client care.
